Description:

Tradesmen International is immediately hiring skilled Marine Shipfitters for projects located in and around the San Diego, CA area. This is a first shift opportunity with a pay rate of up to $30/hour based on experience plus $150/day per diem for Travelers 60+ miles from the job-site If you are a Shipfitter and want to work alongside other proven craftsmen who emphasize safety, productivity and superior craftsmanship, this is your chance to advance your career

Job Scope:

  • Assemble, cut, & grind metal structural parts to include plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles, & come-along
  • Align parts in relation to each other
  • Tack & welds foundation & structural members
  • Perform lay out work according to blueprints or preference lines
  • Mark location of holes to be drilled
  • Drive wedges & install temporary fasteners to hold part in place for welding
  • Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
  • 2+ Years of Experience
  • Knowledge of Blueprint Reading
  • Knowledge of Ship Terminology & different metals
  • Good Burning, Welding, & Craftsmanship Skills
  • Mechanically Ability Preferred
  • T1 Welding Certification Required for FCAW, Flux core, SMAW, Stick, etc.
  • Shipfitter Test
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Safety Awareness
  • Must have OSHA 10 Maritime & Firewatch Certification
  • Background Check & Drug Screen
