Duties and Responsibilities

  • THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION - CANDIDATE MUST LIVE AND WORK IN THE PALMYRA MO AREA.
  • Review all initial applications for completeness and request any missing information
  • Performs initial application tasks including but not limited to running credit reports and conducting account research.
  • Prepares all initial loan documentation and disclosures required.
  • Send esign documents as requested by Loan Officers within required time frames, notifying the Loan Officer of completion, and obtaining necessary audit report for compliance.
  • Obtains information related to the mortgage loan origination process including but not limited to sending appraisal orders, obtaining flood certificates, and ordering title work.
  • Contacts 3rd parties to obtain information needed for loan file which includes but is not limited to insurance companies and agents, title companies, inspectors, financial institutions, and employers.
  • Obtain any necessary invoices needed to be included with the file for closing and contact appropriate parties or conduct research for invoices already paid.
  • Obtains internal and external payoffs, as needed for loan file.
  • Reviews, organizes, and maintains customer file or digital folder.
  • Works directly with the Loan Officer and Underwriter to complete any required conditions to close.
  • Updates and maintains mortgage closing calendar.
  • Utilizes a workflow and file checklist to be able to provide status updates to Loan Officers, Underwriters, and/or other staff.
  • Prepares final loan documents as well as tickets and funding checks.
  • Fund loans with Investor and books all completed loans on Core Processor.
  • Monitors applications in process and works with Loan Officers to prepare withdraw/denial worksheets and verify proper documentation is included with the file to be processed out in a timely manner.
  • Works with the Loan Officer to review maturity report and prepares any necessary loan renewals or extensions.
  • Updates and maintain file checklists.
  • Update and maintain all assigned procedures.
  • Assist the Mortgage Department as needed.
  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Provides support to other lending assistants where services or assistance is needed. Acts as a backup for various loan department positions and functions as needed.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Annually sign Customer Confidentiality and Privacy statement
  • Annually attend Robbery/Security Training
  • Annually read and execute the Employee Handbook and Disaster Plan
  • Be flexible and versatile with job duties as they arise throughout the day
  • Be able to prioritize and complete assignments
  • Work as a team member of HOMEBANK lending staff
  • Communicate any problems to supervisor

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous loan processing or servicing experience required
  • Maintain a working knowledge of banking laws and regulations and internal policies and procedures related to the job.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all lending, deposit and e-banking products/services the bank offers
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be proficient with computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Web based applications (data entry, email, etc.)
