Perform and/or provide expert advice on mechanical maintenance work. Inspect work in progress to ensure that maintenance works meets trades standards, schedules are met, and safe working practices are adhered to; monitor work quality and quantity; and provide suggestions on how to improve methods and solve problems. Participate in Capital improvement projects as assigned. Provide SME input to project management for pumping station designs and improvement. Be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work between CM and other crafts. About the Role: Working in a team setting this person will use their journey level maintenance experience to conduct and oversee high level repairs on all types of rotating mechanical equipment including but not limited to, Offsite pumping station repairs, Conveyance systems, Biosolids decanting Blowers, Influent and effluent pumps, Bio-gas scrubbing compressors, gear boxes, conveyance systems and multiple piping systems. This person will be goal oriented and work on building a safe and friendly working environment. This person will work to provide a team culture dedicated to working with other groups and communication About the Team: Working in a team setting this person will use their journey-level maintenance experience to conduct and oversee high-level repairs on all types of rotating mechanical equipment including but not limited to, biosolids dewatering centrifuges, hydraulic systems, positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, primary sedimentation equipment, influent and effluent pumps, bio-gas compressors, gearboxes, conveyance systems, and multiple piping systems. Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to determining work assignments, work priorities, work schedules, training, participating in hiring and providing feedback on performance evaluations. Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This position requires flexibility to work all shift schedules and report during adverse or inclement weather conditions. Union Representation: This position is represented by S.E.I.U. 925 (Wastewater Treatment Division). Physical Requirement: Incumbents perform field work at a wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities and are required to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, use ladders, and there is exposure to hazardous chemicals and noxious odors and high noise levels. Workplace Exposure: All weather conditions in an industrial wastewater environment. Will be around chemicals, loud noise, and biohazards.
