Woodpro Engineering is seeking a detail oriented, analytical leader to join our dynamic team as a Senior Structural Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading structural design projects, providing technical expertise, and overseeing the structural engineering team to deliver innovative, quality solutions. Job Duties: Reporting to the Structural Manager job duties of the Senior Structural Engineer include: Lead and manage structural design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints; Perform structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software tools, considering factors such as loading conditions, material properties, and structural stability; Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents for structural components, systems, and assemblies; Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers and draftspersons, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing within the team; Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate existing structures, identify deficiencies, and propose remedial measures as needed; Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and reports prepared by team members, ensuring accuracy, compliance with codes, and adherence to quality standards; Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and client presentations, communicating engineering concepts, design solutions, and project updates effectively; Foster positive client relationships, addressing client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally to ensure client satisfaction and project success; All other duties as requested. Education, Experience & Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from BC/AB or equivalent professional certification/license required; Minimum of 7+ years of experience in structural engineering design in the industrial industry, with a proven track record of leading successful projects; Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software including S-Frame, Tekla Structures and AutoCAD essential; Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products; Extensive knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to structural design and construction. Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively lead multidisciplinary teams and manage project resources; Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail in analyzing complex structural engineering challenges and proposing innovative solutions; Exceptional attention to detail, organization and time management required; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal; Self-motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision in a team-oriented setting.
