The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for delivering, automating, and supporting private and public cloud services. This role will lead projects as well as assist others, including managed service providers, with problem resolution. The senior cloud engineer will determine and design new solutions for cloud computing and automation. They must have the ability to plan, design, and deliver new cloud deployments with minimal supervision. Senior cloud engineers should have a strong background in server administration, scripting, cloud and container technologies, micro-services, AWS or Azure, cloud cost optimization, and have utilized CI/CD in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of infrastructure technologies, including compute and storage services, across both on-premises environments, Azure Cloud and AWS;
Contribute technical guidance and proficiency in crafting durable, secure, and high-performing solutions;
Focus on the operational sustainment of the IT infrastructure landscape;
Provide technical leadership to team members within the domain coupled with supporting projects;
Work closely with managed service providers to deliver optimal cloud services
Contribute to technology strategy and roadmaps around cloud and automation platforms
Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation for deployment, management, and process execution.
Maintain documentation of cloud services, reference architecture, automation processes and toolsets
Suggest and test new technologies to improve operational efficiency
Ability to work independently on sprint user stories but also have a willingness to work collaboratively with the team to solve problems

Basic/Required Qualifications
4-year IT Technical degree and five (5) or more years of relevant work experience with at least 3 years in senior roles.

Desired Qualifications
Cloud Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of various Azure and AWS services including Virtual Machines, App Service, Storage, Networking, Active Directory, Functions, and more. Knowledge of networking concepts, backup, disaster recovery solutions, Virtual Machine Management, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Azure Site Recovery Services, Web Service APIs, web-based systems architecture, cloud-based systems architecture and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
Windows and Server Management: Proficient in Windows administration (DNS, DHCP, File Services, ADFS, Storage Services, Public Key Infrastructure, PowerShell), Windows Security, and Baseline Management (GPO). Experience in server configuration, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting with platforms like Windows Server, Linux/Unix, VMWare ESXi, or Hyper-V.
Active Directory Management: In-depth expertise in managing Active Directory environments, including user management, group policies, domain controller configuration, and security.
Complementary Skills: Familiarity with AWS Administration, ITIL experience with ServiceNow, Cisco Network Administration, Checkpoint Firewall Administration, and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and system configuration.
General Skills: Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and influencing skills. Ability to absorb change and continue with positive results. Ability to work with limited supervision. Self-motivated and at ease in a constantly changing environment
