Overview:

The Cyber Security Support Specialist will interact daily with clients and works with other Client account stakeholders in understanding client support requests, technical needs and requirements. The Cyber Security Support Specialist is primarily focused on a mix of end user support and entry level system administration functions. The Cyber Security Support Specialist will support proactive 24 x 7 monitoring of the information environment to detect, analyze, track, and mitigate external threats utilizing a multi-tenant security information and event management system (SIEM) and other tools used to provide managed security services. The Cyber Security Support Specialist is well versed in numerous security technologies, understands the motivations and capabilities of Advanced Persistent Threat actors and can communicate risks and make recommendations associated with specific network threats.

Responsibilities:

Support the Security Operations Center, Security Practice and field engineering personnel in the mitigation and remediation of host and network based vulnerabilities

Perform data aggregation, correlation, alerting, forensics analysis, and reporting as part of SIEM programs

Perform root cause analysis of security violations and recommends corrective action.

Conduct basic static and dynamic malware analysis

SMTP Header analysis and e-mail routing behaviors

Review, create or document standard operating procedures, recommendations, project specific documents and resource guides as needed

Provide on-site and remote end user and server support with focus on:

o Client satisfaction

o Service delivery quality

o Technical excellence

Proactive maintenance, documentation, and testing of client network environments through a combination of scheduled onsite and remote work using prescribed checklists

Perform end user security support as it relates to desktop, server and Mobile communication technologies.

Perform Basic network diagnostics and repairs.

Participate in technical discussions with clients and client stakeholders that impact the clients business continuity and growth.

Professionally document all work performed and submit accurate timecards on a daily basis.

Maintain accurate and up to date documentation of clients network environment and supporting material that ensures consistent quality remote support by the organization.

Project Support at times work with assigned project leads and project managers, working assigned tasks and within defined project scope and milestones to ensure the successful deployment of security services for our clients

Work with other team members to identify new revenue opportunities within their assigned clients

Respond to communications from team members within timelines established by All Covereds communications standards

Timely escalation of issues that prevents the Cyber Security Support Specialist from performing the above job functions.

The Cyber Security Support Specialist is required to participate in the on call rotation that may include off hours work.

Qualifications:

A. Problem Solving and Analysis:

The Cyber Security Support Specialist is responsible for systems and services that are both wide impacting and complex in nature. When issues come up, the Cyber Security Support Specialist must consider the impact of both the problem and solution from many different angles. The Cyber Security Support Specialist is also responsible for gauging the risks association with regular maintenance and day-to-day activities. The analysis will lead to contingency plans that weight the different approaches. Consequences may not be as straightforward as they appear. Solutions must also consider the impact to both internal and external users of the applications and services.

B. Independence:

The Cyber Security Support Specialist must exhibit a high degree of initiative. In addition, the position must maintain alignment and make judgments as appropriate. Timeliness of decisions is critical and must be effectively communicated to those affected. The Cyber Security Support Specialist must have the self-discipline to ensure they are working toward an established standard.

C. Decision Making:

Cyber Security Support Specialist carries the responsibility to contribute to decisions on their team. Decisions are made on a daily basis and the Cyber Security Support Specialist needs to determine when to seek supervisory assistance for additional guidance. The Cyber Security Support Specialist must defend and document decisions, strategies and options to the team and senior management. The Cyber Security Support Specialist must show autonomy and initiative with a team context. Decisions should be based on established guidelines. Decisions outside of the established guidelines and precedence guidelines should be consulted with senior management.

D. Degree of Impact:

The Cyber Security Support Specialist is a highly visible position within the company. The systems and services that the Cyber Security Support Specialist builds and the decisions that are made affect the entire company and its clients on a major scale. Decisions made by the Cyber Security Support Specialist can affect the quality and availability of services to clients.

Bachelors degree in information technology or similar field; or commensurate experience.

Two years working in IT operations, software development, or IT security.

Information Security Industry certifications a plus.

Knowledge of the information security industry across all or most security domains. (administrative, technical, operational, physical, etc.).

Basic understanding of and practical entry level Support experience of Firewall appliances and services (Fortinet, Cisco ASA, SonicWALL models highly preferred).

Basic understanding of the following protocols and networking services: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Layer 2 and Layer 3 Switching

Basic understanding of WLAN, security concepts

Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to communicate with users over the phone and provide remote support using a variety of remote support tools
