Job Description Interim Controller
We are recruiting for an Interim Controller to support a well-funded and strong missioned nonprofit organization in the Sacramento area. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing
cash accounting, cash flow, balance sheet, and accounts receivable activities. This is a contract position for 4-6 months. Pay range: $45.00-$53.00/hour.
The ideal candidate will have non-profit accounting experience and can produce clean and timely financial statements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the month-end close and other day-to-day operational accounting functions within the accounting department.
- Analyze cash flow trends, identify variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting process.
- Manage and maintain the balance sheet accounts.
- Responsible for reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and review financial statements for month-end close.
- Oversight of the Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and collections.
- Produce clean and timely financial reports.
- Support the preparation of financial presentations.
- Other duties as assigned
- BA in accounting or finance required.
- Certified Public Accountant a plus but not required.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in the accounting field.
- Nonprofit and grant accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to work onsite in Sacramento.
