Job Description

Interim Controller

We are recruiting for an Interim Controller to support a well-funded and strong missioned nonprofit organization in the Sacramento area. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing

cash accounting, cash flow, balance sheet, and accounts receivable activities. This is a contract position for 4-6 months. Pay range: $45.00-$53.00/hour.

The ideal candidate will have non-profit accounting experience and can produce clean and timely financial statements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage the month-end close and other day-to-day operational accounting functions within the accounting department.
  • Analyze cash flow trends, identify variances, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Manage and maintain the balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and review financial statements for month-end close.
  • Oversight of the Accounts Receivable, including invoicing and collections.
  • Produce clean and timely financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of financial presentations.
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
  • BA in accounting or finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant a plus but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the accounting field.
  • Nonprofit and grant accounting experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite in Sacramento.
