This job description outlines the responsibilities and qualifications for a Senior Product Owner position at a technology-based Dealer Management Solutions company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Strategy and Roadmap Development:

    • Collaborate with the VP of Product to refine product vision and roadmaps.
    • Represent customer voices in product development initiatives.
    • Set clear priorities for development and engineering teams.
    • Communicate project priorities and timelines to partners.
    • Develop product business cases with measurable success metrics.
  2. Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with internal teams for product development and implementation.
    • Align with engineering and IT departments for resource allocation.
    • Keep abreast of industry trends and competitive analysis.
  3. Quality Assurance:

    • Support quality management efforts to meet product specifications.
    • Work with internal teams for adequate testing and addressing product issues.
  4. Customer Success and Relationship Management:

    • Ensure effective customer communication regarding product development.
    • Develop strong relationships with development partners.
    • Develop product stories for customer awareness.
    • Foster internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  5. Leadership and Professional Development:

    • Maintain industry knowledge as a subject matter expert.
    • Collaborate for continuous improvement in company operations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, Project Management, Business, or related field.
    • Master's degree in IT, Engineering, or Project Management is a plus.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum 8 years in product management.
    • At least 5 years in a SaaS, technology-driven platform, or agile software development environment. Telephony / Cloud VoIP
    • Automotive DMS industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Skills:

    • Market and customer research for product strategy development.
    • Data-driven innovation skills.
    • Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM.
    • Strategic thinking and interdepartmental collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
