The Enterprise Software Solutions department at Argonne National Laboratory invites you to join our team in a learning and collaborative environment. We are responsible for supporting the Laboratory’s enterprise software to further the mission of the lab.We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to provide strategy and technical insight in designing and supporting business processes and services while aligning to software development methodology best practices. The role will be responsible for researching, planning, coordinating, and creating conceptual design requirements. The successful candidate will have a proven record of requirement analysis, problem solving, and solution design and will be able to use those skills to create new solutions or revise existing ones.In addition, the candidate must demonstrate an ability to work well within a team by exhibiting strong collaboration skills, team and customer focus, and an ability to work with senior management – all in a dynamic environment. The position requires learning agility, perseverance, and strong communication skills.This role is an active collaborator on multiple scrum teams with the following responsibilities:

Driving collaboration with stakeholders to gather story details Providing status, support, and feedback to stakeholders on requests relating to stories Working with the team to identify and split up deliverables to support successful sprints Delivering the ‘what’, ‘why’ and business value to the team in the form of a user story with supporting acceptance criteria for refinement Collaborating with the Product Owner and Product Manager to understand business strategy and deliver value for products Full time remote is an option for this role. Position Requirements Required technical skills:

Research, plan, coordinate, and provide solutions on conceptual design requirements. Function as a liaison between business users, functional subject matter experts, systems analysts, and technical developers. Conduct discovery sessions with business end users to understand current state operational challenges and problems. Analyze and evaluate operational processes and flows to create initiatives and priorities for a pipeline of recommended enhancements. Create requirements definitions and technical specifications documentation. Translate technical specifications into business requirements and vice versa. Document the business analysis process and tool functionality for training purposes. Create strategies for testing and proving proposed prototypes and full solutions. Report on progress for initiatives and day-to-day work. Develop good peer-to-peer working relationships with both internal and external business partners. Some experience with data analysis, data integrations, and/or business intelligence applications. Experience with office application tools (e.g., Power Point, Excel, Word, Visio) Required non-technical skills:

User-oriented outlook Ability to understand and follow organizational best practices and standards Ability to develop solutions to business process problems and provide solutions that match clients’ business needs. Knowledge of solution prototyping and process wire framing. Analytical and conceptual thinking skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze and examine data in detail, draw appropriate conclusions and produce actionable reports and metrics. Interpersonal skill in effectively interacting with team members and stakeholders. Strong service orientation, with the ability to work effectively in a customer-focused service environment Self-directed and self-motivated Demonstrated oral and written communication skills including the ability to initiate and foster collaborative relationships Ability to model Argonne’s Core Values: Impact, Safety, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: This requisite level of knowledge and skill is typically achieved through a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Informatics, Information Systems, or Computer Science and 4+ years in the information technology field.
