Position Summary: One of Insight Global’s major clients are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to work on a variety of transportation related structural engineering projects across in Raleigh, NC and Atlanta, GA. Qualified candidates will participate in a wide range of exciting projects by leading design for simple and complex bridges, culverts, retaining walls, overhead gantries, other structures on highway, transit, rail, airport and trail projects. Responsibilities include: Defines scope of project, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing and executing project assignments. Selects problems for investigation, developing novel approaches and solutions to technical problems. Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, designs, evaluations and specifications developed by design staff for accuracy and completeness, performing on-site inspections and reviews, and conducting or overseeing remedial design work. Keeps abreast of state-of-the-art methods and developments in area of specialization. Recommends changes or improvements to plans and programs. May function as the project manager for routine to semi-complex projects. Responsibilities may include supporting the following: marketing, negotiating contracts, budgeting, financial management, schedule coordination and resources allocation. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary. Required Qualifications / skills: B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering. 6-10+ years of relevant experience. PE License is required. High proficiency of Structural Design of Highway Bridges and other highway-related structures is required. Technical design, writing, computer, and communication skills are required. Intermediate proficiency of CAD is required. Plusses: M.S. in Engineering with a concentration in Structures is preferred. SE License is preferred. Department of Transportation experience is preferred. Experience with other types of bridges (railroad, pedestrian, etc.) is a plus. Experience with MicroStation is preferred. Experience with managing people, project scope, budget and schedule is a plus. Direct Placement Roles: Compensation: $120,000 to $160,000 per year annual salary. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
