This position is responsible for maximize total sales and revenue penetration, RevPar index growth, meet and exceed individual and team goals as it relates to budget through proper management of inventories through proper entering of group blocks and managing cutoff dates.

This position works a varying schedule of day and evening shifts, with varying days off. Some weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Responsibilities:

    • Answer all calls, internal and external, in a quick, courteous and professional manner
    • Answer all reservations inquiries from email and phone
    • Enter all reservations in the Opera Management System
    • File work accurately
    • Learn and follow different procedures for the various reservation sources such as individual call-in, group, GDS, Booking.com, Quikbook, Expedia, and Sales office.
    • Check room availability periodically
    • Build and enter all group and airline/contract blocks and rooming lists and create personalized group websites and web link as needed.
    • Monitor cut-off dates, release unused blocked rooms in a timely manner and control all reservations against the blocks built
    • Communicating with Sales Managers and front desk on status of group information (i.e. resume/staff meeting)
    • Maintain good relationships with general managers, sales leaders and corporate team members.
    • Review any duplicate & invalid credit card reservations with the FD team
    • Maintain good relations with all guests and know and implement procedures for giving special attention to VIPs.
    • Communicate all inventory levels to help the overall strategy of the hotel to maximize RevPAR and hotel goals and monitor room type availability daily.
    • Financial Results and Cost Control: Follows proper selling techniques and ensures strategies are utilized to maximize room revenues. Monitors room availability, follows restrictions, and all booking policies and procedures. Drives sales and maximizes revenue by up-selling rooms and amenities. B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group procedures when handling cash and processing financial transactions. Responsible for proper use of all equipment and adheres to cost controls to reduce expenses and waste.
    • Self/Workload Management: Produces required volume of work by planning, organizing and prioritizing work duties. Adheres to B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group general work rules and department procedures. Attends all required department and hotel meetings.
    • Safety/Risk Management: Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, brand, local, state and federal regulations. Follows all B. F. Saul Company Hospitality Group procedures for guest/team member incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
    • Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 1+ years prior guest service experience required preferably in a hospitality setting. Previous hotel front desk experience highly preferred. Excellent verbal communication skills needed. Attention to detail, customer focused and the ability to perform job duties in a fast paced environment.
    • Physical: Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
