Duties are performed according to regularly assigned schedules with priority given to specific areas/locations. Activities may include light maintenance, operation of equipment as needed, routine cleaning and housekeeping, grounds keeping, special maintenance and repair activities, special events, and other related work as required to maintain a pleasant, healthful, aesthetic, and secure environment for all staff and clientele.Minimum QualificationsAbility to learn to work with different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.Ability to learn to work with chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.Ability to learn to work with methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor repairs.Preferred Qualification Demonstrate ability to work successfully with persons from diverse backgrounds and commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives.Make minor mechanical repairs to operate simple maintenance equipment.Work in a variety of adverse weather conditions.Work above the ground level such as on a ladders or scaffolding.Other RequirementsAbility to:Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functionsFollow simple oral and written instructions.Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.Keep simple records.Work Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pmTelework: NoAboutLake Superior College is an Equal Opportunity employer and educator deeply committed to fostering the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
