Description:
Full Service Engineering consulting firm is urgently hiring for a Water Resource/Hydraulic civil engineer. This position will provide leadership opportunities for the development of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, outfall analysis, and stream restoration for a wide range of transportation design projects. Typical projects range from large design/build transportation projects to traditional projects for local government, state, and private sectors. This individual will be responsible for the following:
•Lead technical discussions and oversee the development of the water resource/hydraulic design.
•Leads project team meetings and presents specific aspects of water resource/hydraulic design.
•Provides design support on multiple projects of moderate size and leads designs on smaller projects.
•Maintains high standards of work product and provides quality control for peers.
•Interacts with clients, customers, agency representatives, and contractors.
•Assists the project manager with schedule and budget requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred
At least 5 years of experience in Water resource/hydraulic Engineering design
Experience with DOT (Department of Transportation) or VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation) local policies and procedures is preferred
Experience in technical design in water resource/hydraulic design and familier with VDOT, AASHTO, FHWA, and DEQ standards
Knowledge of and prior experience in using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation, InRoads, Geopak, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil3D) is desirable.
