If you are looking for a rewarding, long-term career where you can make a meaningful impact on the North Texas region, look no further than NTMWD Section 1 – Position Summary The Senior Financial Systems Analyst serves as the Accounting, Finance, and Procurement department’s functional lead for the implementation and ongoing administration of the District’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) financial software system and other systems owned by these departments. Section 2 – Major Responsibilities Provides expertise and leadership in the selection, maintenance, user training, system upgrades, and other core components of the ERP and other financial systems software. Implements and maintains system configurations related to the District’s ERP and other financial systems software. Works collaboratively to carry out complex work to manage, support, and integrate other District systems with the ERP and other financial systems software. Serves as the Finance, Accounting and Procurement Department’s ERP liaison to District staff, specifically Information Technology (IT) staff, vendor resources, and other District staff resources that utilize or integrate with financial systems. Supports District ERP core users through streamlining or reengineering system processes performing analysis of business processes and improving how those processes function. Plans and implements ERP system projects, business process improvements and internal controls. Provides useful system output, reports, and data analysis, and identifies and implements process improvement opportunities. Trains and assists users, through on-the-job and/or formal training, in the adoption of and efficient use of financial systems, reports and dashboards. Provides analytical support, financial analysis, review of various initiatives, and operational changes and efficiencies. Assists in the implementation of external audit recommendations for internal control procedures and related systems, policies and procedures. Coordinates testing of new configurations prior to promotion to production. Plans and works closely with IT Services personnel, system vendors and department staff as system changes and upgrades are planned, tested, and implemented. Maintains accurate historical records by capturing records into the records management system, Laserfiche. Performs other related duties as required. Section 3 – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and generally accepted audit standards, and pronouncements of the Government Accounting Standards Board. Strong understanding and knowledge of Cloud ERP business processes, system maintenance, tools and support. Experience testing Cloud ERP business processes and functional configurations, test plan execution, and testing coordination. Knowledge of complex systems project management. Knowledge of best practices for change management. Knowledge of research methods, data collection and sampling techniques, and statistical analysis. Skill in critical thinking and the ability to make connections within the District. Must be self-directed and able to take on challenges. Strong attention to detail. Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills. Ability to perform a variety of tasks. Must be able to meet strict deadlines. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Section 4 – Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, preferably including coursework in information technology. Minimum of five years of accounting or auditing experience, preferably in a governmental environment. Two or more years of financial information systems project management and implementation experience, including demonstrated ability/experience initiating and leading entity wide system and process changes. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or related professional designation preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training sufficient to provide the applicant with skills, knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the job will be considered. Possess extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License. Section 5 – Environmental Factors, Activity Levels and Equipment This position requires minimum physical exertion with daily lifting requirements up to 10 pounds. Significant finger dexterity required. Activities may include carrying office materials, pulling and pushing file drawers and organizing paperwork. Duties are almost always carried out in an office environment. Equipment used includes a computer, printer, calculator, copier and telephone.
