Company Description

Redeploy Illinois is a grant funded program run through the County of Union, Illinois pursuing to decrease youth incarceration in IDJJ through evidence based community programs that maintain public safety and promote positive outcomes for youth. Redeploy Illinois establishes a continuum of local, community- based sanctions and treatment alternatives for juvenile offenders who would otherwise be incarcerated if the local services and sanctions were not available. The Redeploy Program of the First Judicial Circuit supports the following counties: Union, Jackson, Saline, Alexander, Johnson, Pope, Massac, Pulaski and Williamson.

The Engagement Specialist works directly with the Director of Juvenile Programs and Client Care Coordinator at the office located in Anna, Illinois.

Job Description

The Engagement Specialist position may include the following, as well as other duties assigned:
  • Work closely and establish strong, trusting relationships with the youth, their families, community partners and sub-contractors. Provide support towards the ultimate goal of living safely and successfully in the community. Supports include but are not limited to conflict resolution, basic need support and case management services.
  • Schedule appointments in the Redeploy Office, court houses, sub-contractor office or any safe setting most agreeable to the client and their family.
  • Provide YASI2 Assessments to the youth and family. Work through eCornerstone and CaseWorks to enter in Assessment results.
  • Actively support, represent and extend the mission, vision and values of the Redeploy Illinois Organization.
  • Provide linkage of clients and families to community services.
  • Participate in local and statewide meetings.
  • Participate in trainings, conferences and workshops to enhance skills necessary for the program.
  • Attend court hearings for clients with the Client Care Coordinator as support to the client and family.
  • Complete all documentation and filing in a timely manner. Complete Case Notes on all interactions with clients and family and/or services provided to them.
  • Assist families to improve their support systems by providing families with information about community services and advocacy as well as assist in locating and accessing local community resources through research.
Qualifications

Experience:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, for data input/tracking and reporting.
  • Preferred experience with high-risk youth and their families.
  • Preferred 1 year experience with Case Management.
  • Demonstrates effective written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and initiative with responsibilities and assignments.
  • Knowledge of local community resources or support agencies within the First Judicial Circuit or able to research, seek out and expand knowledge in available resources.
  • Capacity to be flexible and responsive to youth served, their families, sub-contractors and stake holders.
  • Capable of remaining objective and professional in all areas of job functions. Effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethics, religion and racial backgrounds.

Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

License:

Driver's License (Required)

Additional Information

$19.23 per hour

40 hours per week, 8am-4:30pm.
