Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Director to oversee our medical operations and provide leadership and guidance to our healthcare team in the Albuquerque, NM area. The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and promoting a culture of excellence. Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the medical staff, including physicians, advanced practice clinicians (APCs), and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based medical care in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with department managers, nursing leadership, and other stakeholders to optimize patient flow, enhance operational efficiency, and improve patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical staff and hospital administration, representing the interests of the medical staff and advocating for resources and support as needed.
  • Provide medical consultation and guidance to healthcare providers regarding complex patient cases, clinical protocols, and treatment options.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and performance evaluation processes to monitor and enhance the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in medical practice and technology, and incorporate best practices into clinical operations.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning among medical staff and other healthcare team members.

Requirements:

  • BC/BE ABEM, ABFP, ABIM, and AOBEM with ED experience
  • Current licensure as a physician in the state of New Mexico
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical skills and proficiency in acute care management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing priorities and situations.
  • Willingness to work a full-time schedule with flexible shifts, including 12-hour shifts with flexibility
