Reporting directly to the Conversion shift Manager, the successful applicant will have a strong Health and Safety awareness with a flexible and positive approach to multi task working. The candidate should be prepared to manage, lead and take responsibility for all day-to-day operational aspects within the warehouse and dispatch, ensuring compliance to safety requirements and delivering the required objectives of the business through the most effective use of people, materials and equipment to meet customer demands.

The successful applicant will be required to have a flexible and positive approach, be self-motivated and have the ability to plan ahead in order to adhere to customer demands. The candidate must be prepared to work shifts and have a flexible approach to shift working including short term notice of changes to the shift pattern and providing additional cover as required, as well as be able to work on their own initiative.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Health and Safety**

* Accident / Near Miss reporting

* Hygiene / Environment incident reporting

* SSOW

* Safety checks and audits

* Safety observations

* Risk Assessments

* Fire evacuation

* First Aiders / Fire Wardens

**Operations**

* Housekeeping & hygiene standard

* Daily Inventory management and reconciliation PIC system

* Offloading/loading processes in line with delivery requirements

* Strapping line operations

* Rework/quarantine management

* Liaise with customers/3pl supplier on delivery issues

**HR**

* Coaching, Challenging and Leading

* Monitoring absence / Return To Work interviews

* Manage employee relations matters in line with agreed policies

* Monitoring time keeping; clocking / wages (Clockwise/Work Day)

* Controlling holiday requests/bookings

* Arranging holiday / absence cover

* Resource planning

* Updating personnel files

* Updating training records and supporting employees training plans

**Job Specific Technical Requirements**

* Knowledge of Health & Safety Policy & Procedures; ideally IOSH qualification

* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

* IT skills Microsoft office applications, Business management system (CBS)

* Technical knowledge Preferred, not essential

* Leadership/people-management skills

* Proven structured approach to problem solving

* Open approach to leadership

* Good team player

* Good communication skills

* Good organisational skills

* Enthusiastic and reliable
