**JOB OVERVIEW**
The Transportation Analyst is responsible for establishing and supporting operational strategies in an outsourced environment to support Callaway Golfs domestic US outbound transportation. The analyst is responsible for making fact-based decisions that have a financial impact to the business.
**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Manage the routing and transportation of domestic freight to meet internal and external customer requirements. Authorized to adjust work schedule as appropriate to meet the needs of the business.
* Manage carrier and logistics performance monitoring and reporting.
* Proactively identify and resolve all freight and traffic related issues, including communicating with freight brokers/carriers, affected internal departments and customers.
* Analyze transportation costs and service levels, and make recommendations to management to improve the effectiveness of transportation programs.
* Support the design and implementation of new transportation lanes and services.
* Coordinate and communicate with domestic Supply Chain and Sales organizations.
* Prepare and update both ad hoc and ongoing regular reporting as required using SAP and other software applications
* Process miscellaneous shipping requests, balancing best shipment methods (cost and service) and shipper requirements. Authorized to obtain and approve spot quotes as necessary.
* Serve as a team liaison with Sales Operations, Marketing, Customer Service, and Supply Chain during planning stages of special projects with specific transportation requirements.
* Evaluate freight classifications and rates to ensure proper delivery of goods and correct vendor billing for services rendered.
* Identify improvement opportunities and perform business and cost analyses in order to support recommendations. Makes recommendations to management based upon analysis of data.
**TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)**
* Working knowledge of US transportation systems and networks, including intermodal rail, truck, small parcel, and air.
* Proven data analysis and presentation skills.
* Strong communication, analytical and project management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing business environment.
* Experience collecting, compiling, and analyzing data as well presenting findings based upon facts and research
* Must have ability to work independently, multi-task, be a self-starter and team player, and be available to support unique operational needs (i.e. after hours, peak season, and special projects) as required
* Working knowledge of SAP and related tools.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
*

BS or BA degree (Supply Chain/Logistics, Operations preferred).
* Minimum 3 years of directly related experience.
* Experience in domestic logistics, particularly in an operational capacity or in a position where a thorough knowledge of logistics operations was required.
* Experience with contractually-driven performance against service level agreements (SLAs) in transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing or distribution, either as a supplier of services or as a customer.
