ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Readies and maintains financial and business transactions ensuring accurate reporting in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles. Executes day-to-day accounting functions, encompassing journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. Assists with the month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of supporting schedules and financial statements. Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships. Conducts financial analysis and provides insights to support business decision-making processes. Plans the manner in which account structures should be developed or modified. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls. Provides insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Prepares and files federal, state, and local tax returns in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Conducts tax research and stays updated on changes in tax legislation to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategies. Coordinates with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax-related inquiries. Assists in the annual audit process and interface with external auditors as necessary. Contribute to the implementation and upkeep of accounting policies, procedures, and systems to drive efficiency. Evaluates alternative means of treating transactions. Considers the need for new or changed controls. Stays current with accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and best practices. Ensures adherence to internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets. Assists in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition. Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements. Generates accurate and timely financial reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities. Prepares ad-hoc reports and analysis as requested by management. Participates in the preparation of annual financial statements and other statutory reports. Working knowledge of accounting practices. Advanced proficiency in basic math and business calculations. Working knowledge of computer/data entry with the ability to learn new systems. Advanced level of accounting software proficiency. Advanced level of MS Office proficiency.
