Position SummaryThe staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing medication therapy management services in collaboration with other providers to assure that drug therapy is safe, effective, efficient and cost-effective. Pharmacy services provided include interdisciplinary patient care rounds, medication reconciliation, medication therapy monitoring, medication orders management, patient education, drug information, drug dosing, and various. The Pharmacist performs both clinical and distributive tasks necessary to ensure that patients' medication therapy is safe, effective, timely and efficient. The Pharmacist will provide training and education to pharmacy students through practical and didactic experiences. Incumbent acts independently within the scope of their license and areas of expertise with the help of general policies, procedures and practice guidelines with support from the pharmacy manager. The pharmacist ensures that patient care is maintained through compliance with the department's policies, rules and regulations promulgated by the Board of Pharmacy, and other applicable regulatory bodies.The Pharmacist's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner practicing compassion and respect for the inherent dignity, worth and unique attributes of each person. Effectively communicates with patients/families, visitors, colleagues, physicians, leadership, and volunteers. All areas of care delivery are provided to achieve and maintain top decile results and outcomes for patient experience, quality, and patient safety. Follows and adheres to ARHS policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and standards of behavior.The Pharmacist demonstrates the ARHS Mission, Vision, and Values in action and approaches work in a way that reflects a bias for action, efficiency, and personal accountability. Demonstrates professional conduct, effective communication, and effective delegation of tasks. Effectively and professionally manages working relationships with coworkers, physicians, and all ARHS team members in a way that promotes a healthy work environment.
