**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:**

The Assistant Branch Manager will be the on-site Manager at the Portland, OR branch and will manage the day-to-day operations and complete all duties as assigned by the Regional Manager. This position will ensure that the branch meets or exceeds our goals in customer service, safety, and profitability. The Assistant Branch Manager must maintain and champion a culture that values people and customers and above all else empowers teams to build sustainable, profitable growth.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:**

* Demonstrate Modern Machinerys core values and promote the mission and vision of the company.

* Follow all company policies, processes, procedures. Exercise safe work practices to contribute to the achievement of the companys safety goals.

* Manage all day-to-day operations of the branch business.

* Execute on short term and long-term strategic goals.

* Build trust, communicate effectively, and foster innovation.

* Evaluate operational procedures and employing Best Practices as employed throughout the company.

* Work with Team Members towards continuous process improvement.

* Oversee financial operations of the branch including revenues and expenses.

* Assist with recruiting, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing team to achieve company goals.

* Maintain connection with customers and develop new business in the region through relationship building and proposing region-specific initiatives.

* Incorporate effective communication strategies among the Sales, Service and Parts departments.

* Champion a culture of safety, leadership, responsibility, accountability, continual improvement among all employees.

* Promptly respond to accidents/incidents and properly conduct preliminary fact-finding investigations.

* Comply with monthly location safety meetings and ensure branch activity is conducted safely.

* Knowledge of operational duties as it relates to the various disciplines.

* Partner with the product support team to promote and profit from the repair of customer owned equipment.

* Conduct branch meetings; cover important problematic areas and identify areas to be improved.

* Ensure facilities are clean and organized.

* Support company guidelines, performance expectations, and goals for all direct reports.

* Provide feedback and coaching and evaluate employee performance against business objectives and goals.

* Attract, retain, and develop top talent and develop depth in succession plans for key positions.

* Contribute to overall success by performing additional duties as assigned.

* Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet our core values.

**REQUIRED SKILLS/JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

* Bachelors degree in business administration, accounting, economics, or finance. A combination of education, skills and experiences may be considered in lieu of degree.

* Demonstrate leadership and exercise high integrity to make sound independent decisions while interacting and cooperating with all company personnel.

* Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.

* Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills.

* Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and be detail oriented.

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

**NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:**

* Requires prolonged sitting with periodic lifting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
