The State seeks a variety of positions to establish industry best in class Ansible practices, lead existing teams, and/or create and implement appropriate solutions or platforms. The Ansible Architect will be responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IT automation systems and tools, with a specific focus on Ansible, across the ITSD organization and its agencies. This role is essential for optimizing the State's IT infrastructure, processes, and workflow, ensuring both efficiency and effectiveness in delivering IT services to all departments. This position will collaborate with various State personnel from ITSD and a number of different State agencies, as required and directed by the State.

Scope of Duties

  • Design, implement, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for application deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Utilize Ansible Tower for centralized management, logging, role-based access control, and workflow automation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and architect automation solutions that align with company goals.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices related to Ansible and Ansible Tower.
  • Monitor automation processes, ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
  • Document all automation workflows, including playbook creation and maintenance procedures.
  • Continuously evaluate the latest Ansible modules, plugins, and features to leverage in automation solutions.
  • ssist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues in the infrastructure related to automation.
  • Promote a culture of automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within the organization.
This position will consult and assist as needed.
60% on-site (at least 3 days per week) in Jefferson City, Missouri.
