It is also featured in Loren Pope's notable book, "Colleges That Change Lives." Position Summary Provides accounting and other recordkeeping services in support of the Colleges financial operations. Prepares and/or processes transactions to the general ledger, monitors banking and investment activities, reconciles general ledger accounts, and prepares tax and other reports as assigned. Performs essential functions personally, in conjunction with department or college personnel or outside vendors. Essential Functions Statement(s) Ensures the timely and accurate entry, upload, and/or posting of general ledger journal entries and budget adjustments. Maintains daily bank balance spreadsheet and communicates transactions internally. Prepares, and processes to the general ledger, monthly cost and internal service allocations for photocopy expenses, mailing and printing services, credit cards, and other applicable functionalities. Supports monthly bank reconciliations through the clearance of checks in the Colleges ERP and maintenance of the outstanding check list. Prepares sales tax reports for timely and accurate filing, and remittance of sales and use tax returns. Completes monthly and/or quarterly reconciliation of general ledger accounts as assigned. Supports Controller Director of Business Services, and/or Vice President for Business Affairs in analyzing general ledger activities and/or budget variances as required. Provides backup support to the Administrative Assistant to the VP for Business Affairs and/or the Cashier. Other Job Functions: Other Duties as assigned. Position Qualifications Minimum knowledge, skills, abilities, licenses, certifications, and behaviors necessary to perform the essential functions of the job at a fully acceptable level. Knowledge Minimum Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Basic principles, procedures, and methods used in the performance of clerical and accounting duties. Desired Education/Experience: Bachelors degree preferred. Four years related experience (banking or investments) preferred. License or Certification N/A Skills Utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) or appropriate alternative software to the extent required to effectively perform the essential functions; Colleague software experience preferred. Communicate effectively using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to inform or persuade the intended audience. Abilities Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
