The Focus On Renewal Sto-Rox Neighborhood Corporation (FOR) is an umbrella organization for much needed social services ranging from food security, nutrition, early-childhood education, support groups and mental health to arts programs for all ages and small business incubation. Focus On Renewal employs 30+ staff at four locations throughout McKees Rocks and Stowe Townships. We work with a wide range of partners to ensure high quality programming is accessible to all 13,000 residents of the Sto-Rox Community. Our mission states that Focus on Renewal's programs and partnerships connect children, adults, and families with the relationships, resources, and opportunities needed to develop and sustain a thriving community.

Job Requirements
The Compliance Officer plays a vital role in upholding the integrity of the organization, ensuring the safety of its members, and maintaining adherence to policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Policy and Procedure Oversight:
- Develop, implement, and review organizational policies and procedures to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Regularly update policies to reflect changes in laws or organizational needs.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks across all organizational activities.
- Develop and implement safety protocols, emergency response plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor compliance with safety standards and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address potential hazards.
- Stay current on local, state, and federal regulations affecting the not-for-profit sector.
- Ensure the organization's activities align with all relevant laws and regulations, including reporting requirements.
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff and volunteers on compliance, safety, and risk management practices.
- Foster a culture of compliance and safety awareness throughout the organization.
- Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide reports and recommendations for corrective actions to relevant departments.
- Lead investigations into compliance concerns, safety incidents, or allegations of wrongdoing.
- Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to address issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive system for documenting compliance activities, safety measures, and risk assessments.
- Ensure accurate and timely record-keeping to demonstrate compliance to regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior leadership and relevant governing bodies.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., law, business, compliance).
- Proven experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of not-for-profit regulations and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills; highly developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment
- Demonstrated ability to work in an urban environment and with diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Valid driver's license, have reliable transportation and be able to provide all necessary clearances
- Ability to sell ideas, influence audiences and negotiate terms that favor the organization
- Ethical and principled approach to compliance and risk management.
- Proactive and forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Prior experience working for a not-for-profit organization
- Resident of McKees Rocks Borough or Stowe Township preferred
