Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting

CFS is working with a local employer, seeking a Senior Accountant. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and provides a wide range of accounting support including balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, journal entries and month-end close related duties. This position also performs complex technical accounting activities and financial analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review internal, external, and manufacturer financial statements.
  • Research and analyze technical accounting issues and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of GAAP and prepare financial reports, including the cash flow statement.
  • Manage month-end closing procedures, reconcile balance sheets, and perform trend reviews.
  • Analyze financial data, identify profit improvement opportunities, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct research and complete special projects independently, demonstrating strong judgment.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies, ensuring consistency and adherence to GAAP.
  • Review agreements for accounting implications and report findings to management.
  • Support external audits and interact effectively with audit teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and reporting initiatives.
  • Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and communicate proactively with management.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal team members.
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills to create efficient and sustainable workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
  • CPA is a plus but not required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Expert understanding of US GAAP
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills
  • Independent problem-solving abilities with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to see the big picture while focusing on detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional setting
