Position Details: As Senior Transportation Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for all transportation activities that occur in your aligned distribution center. You will need to manage transportation processes by communicating with carriers and partnering with Distribution Center operations. You will also identify new opportunities that improve processes and carrier relationship around cost and service. You will report to the Manager, Transportation. This role is based in Southaven, MS. You Will: Analyze data for opportunities of improvement, develop a recommended course of action, implement a successful solution, and monitor results. May lead team efforts on a specific project. Monitor important transportation metrics and develop actions plans. Manage all components related to Carrier Management which may include: Host monthly scorecard and feedback conversations with transportation carriers. Create a plan to improve performance. Establish and update standard work (Master Operating Plan) Help resolve recurring carrier issues that are affecting operations. Conduct root cause analysis and communication of large-scale failures Compliance review Communicate with carriers, transportation management, and other internal partners (Distribution Center, Customer Service, Sales) on progress, failures, andopportunities. Immerse yourself in transportation and distribution processes and be comfortable on the distribution floor and in carrier facilities. You Have: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 3+ years operations experience in areas of supply chain, distribution center, transportation, supplier management or similar areas Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other reporting tools and interfaces (e.g. SAP, PowerBI) Rewards and Benefits: With benefits starting day one, Grainger is committed to your safety, health and wellbeing.
