The Personal Banker at our Lehighton branch plays a vital role in promoting the bank's services, maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the branch's sales and service goals. This position involves sales and cross-sales of financial products, processing new accounts and loan applications, and providing direct teller services. The Personal Banker will also assist less experienced staff and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Service:
- Actively engage in sales activities, including opening new accounts, processing loan applications, and cross-selling financial products to meet branch objectives.
- Maintain ongoing business relationships with existing customers to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide timely sales information for performance reports and regularly review individual sales performance with a supervisor.
- Refer customers to the Wealth Management area as needed.
- Customer Relations:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the bank's products and services to effectively meet customer needs.
- Assist customers with inquiries, service problems, and provide direct teller services.
- Offer guidance on general financial issues and connect customers with specialized services when necessary.
- Leadership and Support:
- Provide leadership and support to less experienced staff members.
- Prepare various forms and reports as requested by management.
- Comply with all corporate policies, procedures, and federal regulations.
- Branch Operations:
- Perform various teller duties, including paying, receiving, and balancing functions.
- Offer suggestions and participate in branch event marketing activities.
- Be prepared to float to other bank locations as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience as a personal banker.
- Proven ability to sell bank products and services.
- Working knowledge of wealth management.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Intermediate keyboarding skills and ability to perform moderately complex math.
- Ability to create written materials and communicate effectively with customers and co-workers.
- Office environment work with operation of various office equipment.
- Digital dexterity, light to moderate lifting, and the ability to move around the branch.
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
- Must be capable of performing complex data processing and mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
