Job Summary Outpatient Behavioral Health Psychiatric Technicians provide group based direct care to children ages five to eighteen higher level of care programs that include, Partial Hospital, Intensive Outpatient, and Extended Day Treatment. Technicians implement individual behavior plans for patients, facilitate skill based groups to improve self-control, distress tolerance, and social skills. Technicians are also responsible for supervision of children/adults throughout the program that includes during group, therapeutic activities, throughout the building and for some programs during van rides. Bridges technicians also review home goal sheets/communication and oversee the internal level/reward behavioral milieu program. Job Responsibilities Provides direct care to participants in a developmentally appropriate manner that creates a safe, trauma free, accepting therapeutic environment. Assists clinicians in delivery of therapeutic group treatment interventions that may include group psychotherapy processing, group therapeutic recreational activities, art therapy, psychoeducational activities, and social skills groups. Helps facilitate group interaction and involvement by program participants through redirection, modeling, verbal and non-verbal reinforcements Utilization of behavioral medication point based level systems. Record episodes of target behaviors during group and work with clinician to review points and level system at the end of group sessions. Provides clinical support to program participants and their families to facilitate their participation in therapeutic recreational activities. Attends staff meetings as required, and participates in in-service meetings and educational programs. Maintains records of group members participation as requested by clinicians including collection of behavioral data to measure against the goals and objectives in group member treatment plans. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assists in the development and implementation of elements of discharge plans as assigned by clinicians for participants leaving the program. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Provide case management support for patients as assigned by the clinical team. Activities include collateral contacts related to: insurance; school and agency schedules; setting up of appointments; gathering of collateral medical/psychiatric records; routine non-clinical correspondence; and miscellaneous contact with family members and community providers. Set up and clean up of rooms and group equipment/materials for psycho-education groups. Co-facilitate psychoeducation groups to support primary clinicians by taking attendance, documenting the group activity, assisting with behavioral management and utilizing treatment plan interventions for patients disrupting group process. Complete all assigned documentation responsibilities for collateral contacts and psycho-education groups that meets established Joint Commission, state regulatory and corporate compliance criteria. Attend and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings, staff development meetings, and mandatory department/hospital meetings Follow all established department and hospital policies and procedures. Complete continuing education requirements as required by the unit and hospital. Displays and upholds CHH core values of dignity, compassion, service excellence, community and integrity.
