Description

Job Title: Barista

Department: Front of House

Reports To: Bistro Supervisor

Summary: A Barista prepares and serves coffee, tea and specialty beverages. They sell packaged foods such as breakfast sandwiches, baked goods and fruit as well as process payments for orders. Responsibilities also include explaining menu items, updating displays, maintaining a clean dining area and ensuring guests have a memorable experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet and welcome guests, informing them about specials or new items
  • Preparing foods such as breakfast sandwiches or baked goods and packaging for sale
  • Grinding and blending coffee beans
  • Brewing coffee and tea
  • Process card and cash transactions
  • Arrange items to make attractive display
  • Update signage and displays to attract guests
  • Replenish items, supplies and equipment in display cases, at tables and behind counter to ensure adequate levels
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and utensils
  • Clean surrounding area, sinks, counters, tables, chairs and equipment
  • Empty wastebaskets and remove trash
  • Perform other duties as assigned
