We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Credit Analyst to join our credit team. The Credit Analyst conducts in-depth financial analysis to determine which credit structures best meet our client's needs. This position reports onsite at our north Dallas headquarters.
What You'll Do:
- Assist lending staff in the analysis, servicing and reporting of the Bank's commercial and real estate loans. Work directly with lending staff in the development of appropriate credit decisions and prepare written reports documenting these decisions.
- Analyze financial information including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and tax returns to form an opinion of creditworthiness of applicants based on sound risk-based examination of strengths and weaknesses. Determine appropriate risk ratings and make recommendations for approval/denial of loan requests.
- Prepare written credit memorandums for presentation and approval.
- Determine the proper risk rating for each transaction.
- Initiate, complete, and submit credit-related reports and documentation in a timely manner to achieve business goals and objectives.
- Provide guidance to lending staff for interpretation and application of the Bank's lending policies/procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide analytical support directly to the Executive team to identify and measure credit risk and emerging trends within the Bank's overall loan portfolio.
- Work closely with the Executive team on all business opportunities and issues related to credit policies and credit decisions.
- Provide input and feedback to Executive team regarding credit decisions on specific transactions.
- Assist with various credit risk management practices, including, but not limited to, portfolio stress testing and various management and board-level reporting, as well as regulatory reporting requirements.
- Assist with periodic reviews and necessary modifications of internal credit policies and lending practices to maintain compliance with regulatory governance and industry best practices.
- Proactively identify enhancements to credit metrics, vendor tracking, and reporting needs, ensuring that the requests are completed and implemented in a timely manner.
- Update and maintain vendor reviews and large customer exposures concentrations ensuring appropriate committee approval.
- Actively obtain updated financial information and revisit existing large customers and program concentrations for re-approval on a consistent basis.
- Participate in ongoing training and education.
Your Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in credit analysis and/or commercial lending
- In depth knowledge of commercial and real estate underwriting practices along with a balanced knowledge of regulatory governance of commercial lending activities.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting and analysis of corporate credits.
- Proficiency using Microsoft suite of Office products (e.g., Excel)
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Team focused and goal oriented.
- Excellent oral and written communication with clients, co-workers, and all levels of management.
