Summary:

The purchasing Buyer will negotiate with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by the company.

Main Activities/Responsibilities: Inbound internationally sourced raw material logistics. Track incoming shipments from foreign suppliers, typically Asia-based. Monitor online booking agent portals for available shipments and required approvals. Research, identify, recommend, and select key suppliers. Monitor supplier performance in the following key indicators: quality, price, delivery, and service. Negotiate best pricing and delivery for raw materials, component parts, shipping materials, facility services, general supplies, and other related materials. Responsible for ERP scheduling and replenishment system with suppliers. Monitor inventory levels and trends. Purchase, and schedule the movement of raw materials, component parts, shipping materials, facility services, general supplies, and other related materials through the manufacturing and inventory process. Conduct timely and effective follow-up on Purchase Orders to verify on-time delivery or to expedite material shortages. Monitor receiving reports, returns to vendors and "invoice hold" reports, to resolve these issues in a timely manner. Provide purchasing assistance to the engineering group to identify new vendors and ensure that the appropriate prototype materials and components are available and prototype manufacturing is scheduled to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with suppliers and MRB team the returns to vendors. Keeps information accessible by electronically filing documents to Purchase Orders. Other duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills Computer skills: MS Word, MS Excel, PLEX Ability to work effectively with warehouse and professional staff.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a business-related area or 5 to 10 years of purchasing experience. Proficient understanding of written and verbal English.
