Design Reviews:

Review plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders. Assist in resolving disputes and problems. Assist with review of Contractor Schedule.

Field Inspections:

Provide photographic records. Read and understand architectural, structural, and civil drawings. Redline drawings and pictures using Adobe Acrobat. Track completed work and review contractor's progress payments. Provide field support services for submittals, RFIs, and contract change orders. Notify the resident engineer of observed non-conformances. Participate in planning, preconstruction, coordination, and field staff meetings. Respond to public complaints. Schedule and order required tests, operations, and inspections. Review change orders for implementation. Maintain as-built drawing records. Conduct and/or witness testing of contract material and equipment. Report safety hazards and defective work to the contractor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Five years of experience in construction inspection and design work, including two years in an urban environment. Familiarity with transit industry standards is helpful. Knowledge of P25 radio systems is a plus. Valid driver's license. Ability to work nights and weekends. Skills and Competencies:

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in Excel and MSWord. Ability to work in a team environment.
