Responsibilities:

We are seeking a Weapon System Engineer to support our US Navy customer Strategic Systems Programs, in Washington, DC

In this position you will support the nations most reliable deterrent, while assisting the engineering team in the areas of production and design/development. Arcfield has held this contract for over sixty-seven years and closely teams with the Navy to accomplish this mission. Offices are located near the Washington Navy Yard within sight of the Nations Capital and with easy access to public transportation (Green line on the Metro).

Responsibilities

What you will do....

  • Support the Navy in the development, test and production phases of a new weapon design.
  • Serve as technical secretary for various DoD/DOE working groups.
  • Analyze and trace requirements.
  • Evaluate risks.
  • Review and comment on detailed test plans and reports.
  • Analyze detailed schedules in support of EVMS.
  • Assess the design and production efforts of the Design and Production Agents.
  • Serve as independent evaluator for formal design development, integration, qualification, and production reviews.
  • Interface with SSP, Joint Staff, DTRA, Army, Navy, DOE (NNSA), OSD, and contractor personnel.
  • Represent the Navy customer at various meetings when they cannot be present.

  • You have a BS in a technical field with 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 of experience, or HS with at least 10 years of experience
  • You have experience with weapons production and delivery.
  • You possess strong technical writing skills.
  • You must possess and maintain a current Top-Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

It would be even better if you

  • Understand the nuclear weapons development process.
  • Have experience with DOORS.
  • Have experience with Model Based System Engineering.
  • Have a DOE Q clearance.
Equal Pay Act:
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
