Position Title: Pest Control Advisor (PCA) Trainee

Classification: Salary Non-Exempt

Hours Per Week: 40 and availability as needed

Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Scout fields in Butte, Glenn and Tehama counties for pest pressure. Assist and maintain insect trapping schemes for all ranches.

Learn to write chemical recommendations and prepare use reports for all ranches.

Review chemical safety protocol prior to chemical applications, conduct tailgate trainings with employees and review/follow Respirator Protection Plan

Assist in taking leaf and soil samples & tracking nutrient levels from year to year.

Speak with chemical reps and attend meetings about new chemical development and efficacy.

Assist with keeping SDS and Chemical Labels current.

Assist with paperwork for the County Ag Commissioners in Butte, Glenn, and Tehama and other govt. agencies as required (e.g. NOIs; HazMat permits; Respirator Protection Plan; etc.)

Track and Manage up to date Inventory of Chemicals and Fertilizer.

Supervision and instruction of safe working practices and conditions including field sanitation.

Enforcement of all company policies and procedures.

Attend safety and field meetings.

Help manage seasonal interns with trapping and scouting.

Other duties that are assigned.
