The Engineering Manager role is responsible for:
- Management Leadership role for both Current and Forward medel engineers.
- Provide assistance on managing departmental targets such cost initiatives, establishing process to meet production objectives (standards), defining quality objectives, KPI objectives, and department budgets.
- Assures new product and launches are achieved by APQP process.
- Direct team for successful completion of project deliverables and encourage their development through positive feedback and support.
- Maintain all Engineering and related reporting area budgets and manpower requirements.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing operations.
- Provide technical interface with internal and external customers (both Automotive and Commercial vehicles).
- Experience or education in Lean manufacturing principles.
- Coach and mentor engineering group.
- Manage safe work practices and maintain safe work environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
- APQP Process understanding (FMEA, Control Plan, etc.).
- Lean manufacturing abilities is a plus as we transition in our Continuous Improvement Program (GPS)
- Demonstrated Management skills
- Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
- Able to delegate responsibilities; objectively evaluates the performance of direct reports; and able to hold others accountable in a constructive manner
