Texas Oncology is looking for a Full?time Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team This position will support the Tyler location. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material. Provide psychosocial support to patients and families. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care. Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart. Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre?testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients. Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart. As necessary, facilitate communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinate services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Inter?professional collaboration. Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Qualifications Level 1 Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 0?3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology. Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements) 3?5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology preferred. Level Sr (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements) Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred. Physical Requirements Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye?hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
