Sr. Production Lead

to join the team Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Today, Del Real Food makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco -- all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial.

Under general supervision, the employee performs a full range of Lead assignments using supervisor as guidance to perform daily assigned tasks. In this role, the Production Lead is responsible for coordinating, delegating and implementation of various activities in a group (Serves as a liaison between line operators, packers and supervisors. Production Lead must ensure that all products leaving the plant meet the parameters established for customer satisfaction and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Follows and enforces employee's safety procedures.Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor or manager.Follow, Monitor, and Enforce all food safety procedures.Follows and enforces SQF requirements (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP's, and ETC)Follows and enforces USDA & FDA guidelines and regulations.Follow Company Policies, Regulations, and Lunch & Break PoliciesDirect the packaging functions by coordinating and leading the activities of the department.Operate, troubleshoot and maintain all equipment in department.Train and develop new team members and operators in the efficient operation of equipment and knowledge of quality and safety expectations.Ensure correct and timely completion of all necessary paperwork.Coordinate with other leads on the shift to ensure staffing is covered in all areas.Ensure team members and operators have the necessary training to make a contribution to the team effort.Strive to run at standard equipment efficiencies or better on a daily basis.Coordinate activities with Production Supervisor.Ensure product meets all quality standards.Maintain communication with department Manager and Supervisor.Execute all projects as expected in a timely manner.Lead the area work teams and develop a positive work team environment.Take responsibility for ensuring accidents are managed properly. Coordinate information with the Human Resources and Safety Specialist.Be an active member/participant in work and process improvement, safety and other areas that are pertinent to the area.Responsible for reporting food safety and quality issues and initiate action, as necessary.Ability to run the shift in the absence of the supervisor.Assist the team to achieve goals & objectives.Additional duties and various projects as needed.

Requirements and Duties:

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices (GMP'S and GLP's).Knowledge of PC software and data entry experience (SAP preferred).Good communications skills both writing and verbal.Proficient computer skills- Microsoft word, Excel and Power pointAbility to use basic equipment in sensory labs i.e. scales, thermometers, hotplates etc.Must be organized, observant and detail oriented.Ability to multitask and adapt/ manage rapidly changing priorities.Ability to work in team environment as well as the ability to work independently.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEHigh School/ G.E.DMinimum 4 years' experience on the field (Food Industry is a plus)Bilingual (English/Spanish)
