Position Overview:

As a Solution Architect specializing in utilities, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient solutions tailored specifically to the unique challenges and demands within the utility's domain. Leveraging your deep understanding of utilities-specific technologies and best practices, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect comprehensive solutions that address business needs and facilitate digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end solution architecture design process, taking into account both functional and non-functional requirements specific to utilities (e.g., grid management, asset optimization, customer information systems, etc.). Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, development teams, and third-party vendors, to understand business objectives and translate them into technical solutions. Develop architectural designs, documentation, and technical specifications that adhere to industry standards, regulatory compliance, and security protocols within the utilities landscape. Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements or new solutions to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency within the utilities domain. Provide guidance and support to development teams during the implementation phase, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and best practices. Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in the utilities sector, integrating relevant advancements into solution designs. Act as a subject matter expert, offering insights and recommendations on technological advancements and their potential impact on the utilities industry.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Proven experience (X years) as a Solution Architect, demonstrating successful delivery of complex projects within the utilities industry. Strong understanding of utilities-specific technologies such as SCADA systems, metering solutions, GIS, IoT, etc. Proficiency in architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps). Familiarity with regulatory requirements, standards, and compliance in the utilities sector. Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to drive innovative solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification or specialized training in utilities-related technologies or frameworks. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment. Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and their application in utilities solutions.
