Our client is a consumer facing product manufacturer in the Greater Memphis area in need of a Senior Industrial Engineer reporting to the VP of Product Development. The company is in the process of "professionalizing" their entire organization and this is tremendous opportunity to enter this growing and evolving organization at the right time.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic Industrial Design professional who is well versed in capturing customers expectations and preferences through the lens of new product design, a talent for mentoring, a passion for solving users problems, embraces accountability, enjoys working across all functions of the organization, has strong intellectual curiosity and loves creating new designs through user focused design principals.

The following are the competencies required for the role:

Relevant Experience

Demonstrated ability to apply industrial design engineering to customer facing relevant product components including toggles, buttons, latches, mechanical switches or similar type mechanical components.

Human Factors Engineering

Ability to design or evaluate human work systems, using human factors engineering and ergonomic principles to optimize usability, cost, quality, safety, or performance and produce innovative designs.

Modelling

Some ability to 3D model and use 3D modelling as part of the industrial engineer process in developing product designs.

Suitability of Design

Demonstrated ability to interpret analyses such as VoC to determine suitability of design concepts. Ability to work with design teams to ensure feasibility of designs.

Concept Presentation

Ability to create low fidelity concept sketches, high fidelity CAD files, and collateral / images for use in presentation. Ability to present compelling findings through design reviews.

Partner / Team Collaboration

- Ability to develop relationships and work effectively amongst the design engineer team to ensure feasibility of designs and cross-functionally with various organizations and external partners.
