MDS is seeking a Traffic Engineer to play an essential role in the successful completion of transportation projects while ensuring they are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. The successful candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to work on traffic operations and modeling, safety analysis, multi-modal planning/implementation, signing and striping plans, signal and lighting design, temporary traffic control plans, and many other tasks.

Responsibilities may include:
•Traffic analysis and modeling
•Traffic plan design
•Communication and collaboration
•Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
•Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills
•Ability to problem solve
•A work hard, play hard, innovative attitude
•A willingness to collaborate in a team environment
•A desire to grow with the company
•Experience in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
•Proficiency in traffic analysis and design software
•Proficient in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
•Progressive traffic engineering related experience
•B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) with Professional Engineer licensure (PE) in Minnesota
•Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE)
•Knowledge of CADD software, preferably MicroStation
•Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
•Experience supervising staff
