Schedule: In office daily, but flexibility as needed

Pre-Construction Estimator Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, motivated estimator to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for project take-offs, estimating labor and materials costs, and communicating financial cost and take-off to Director of Pre-Construction and Construction Management Team. You must have a keen attention to detail and the ability to read and comprehend construction plans and specifications.

Pre-Construction Estimator Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fulfill appointed tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assess projects by identifying project requirements, regarding time, labor, and material costs.
  • Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents to prepare estimates.
  • Work with Director of Construction to prepare bid packages and presentations to upper management.
  • Recommend cost-reduction options.
  • Maintain thorough records of all project documentation, including estimates and specifications.
Pre-Construction Estimator Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or architecture
  • 3-5 years in the construction industry, specifically stick-built required.
  • Pre-construction experience preferred.
  • High knowledge and capability to read and understand construction plans.
  • Knowledge of material take-off formulas and methods required
  • Knowledge in the following software preferred:
    1. Microsoft Office
    2. Bluebeam
    3. Procore
    4. Sage/Timberline
  • Ability to operate independently and complete assigned tasks with deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Limited travel potential
