Job description

Walbar Engine Components is a world-class, independent precision manufacturer of turbine engine component for aerospace, power generation and diesel locomotive industries.

Walbar specializes in hot-section turbine components for larger commercial aerospace engines, including turbine blades, nozzle guide vane segments (NGVs) and seal segments.

Position Summary:

Support operations in the timely and effective resolution of product and process issues on production and NPI activities and must ensure that company and customer requirements are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, develops and implements Quality Control processes and programs.

· Helps establish quality improvement goals and objectives that support company financial plans and customer requirements.

· Develops quality plans and documentation requirements, including the use of statistically valid sampling methods, to evaluate product at every stage of the manufacturing process.

· Provides training to manufacturing personnel in the use of statistical techniques.

· In conjunction with engineering and manufacturing personnel, develops inspection and testing methods, and interprets customer product evaluation requirements.

· Develops quality training material and conducts training as required.

· Evaluates and measures compliance to company, industry and customer quality requirements.

· Conducts internal and external quality audits.

· Assists in identifying and implementing cost effective, innovative technical solutions in the quality control field.

· Confers with management, customers and suppliers in planning, scheduling, coordinating and directing quality activities to ensure conformance to customer requirements and specifications.

· Supporting company policies, procedures, goals, objectives and goods manufacturing practices.

· Applies Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to the production process.

· Performs root cause corrective action (RCCA) analysis in the disposition of non-conforming material.

· Support Manufacture engineer in Non-conform material disposition when is required. AS9100 knowledge and understanding.

· Participate in continues improvements events when is required.

Required Experience:

•Bachelor’s degree and 3 years’ experience in a quality field, aerospace preferred

•Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality standards.

•Familiarity of statistical techniques.

•Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Project – Minitab a plus.

•Must possess solid analytical skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

Organized, logical, and detailed oriented with excellent documentation skills.

Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills, able to communicate through all levels and directions of the organization.

Ability to follow through, complete assignments, and achieve desired results.

Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude, and teamwork with customers, peers and management.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or similar project tool.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – spreadsheets, word processing, presentation development.

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment.

Good interpersonal skills.

Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating performance.

Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

Ability to direct, lead, coach, and develop people.

Flexible and adaptable, able to change and alter according to changes in projects or business environment.

Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines.

Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines.

Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers.
