The Payroll Accountant is responsible for performing daily payroll accounting activities, processing general ledger journal entries, and reconciling payroll disbursements for a portfolio of focused service and full-service hotels. This role is 2 days remote and 3 days on-site at our Newton, MA Headquarters. Job Description Duties/Responsibilities: Prepares accurate and timely journal entries of all weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle processed payrolls. Prepares month-end close journal entries including but not limited to vacation accruals, inter-entity labor allocations, and adjustments. Reviews payroll transactions and coding using payroll, human resources, and accounting systems to ensure timely and accurate financial recording and presentation of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Prepares the reconciliation of payroll intercompany accounts to ensure all payroll-related cash is properly posted and reconciled. Assists Payroll Accounting Manager with responses to various internal and external stakeholders on questions and issues including budget, payroll, liability accounts reconciliation, or other accounting issues. Assists Payroll Accounting Manager with audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Performs other duties/projects as assigned. Qualifications and Skills: 2+ years’ experience in accounting and financial record keeping, including closing entries (hospitality industry preferred) Bachelors Degree required Experience with ADP or similar payroll software is desirable Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ability to effectively organize, manipulate, and analyze large amounts of data Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting Demonstrate ability to use technology to improve processes and efficiencies Able to handle confidential information Ability to proactively communicate and work effectively with accounting team members and operational customers Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work Strong analytical skills and ability to accurately process numerical data Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines required Excellent organizational and communication skills Passionate, enthusiastic, and must thrive in a teamwork setting Additional Job Information/Anticipated Pay Range Pay Range: $25.00 to $28.00.
