ATI is current seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to join our facility located in East Hartford, CT. The primary purpose of this job is to be accountable for coordination and timely shipment of customer orders, outgoing and incoming materials in compliance with requirements and meet Company goals.

  • Schedule daily shipments, assign required personnel, and procure necessary support services to effect timely shipment in compliance with customer requirements and ATI Forged Products procedures
  • Coordinate material handling and manpower allocation in Shipping/ Receiving/Cribs to control cost and provide uninterrupted flow of material in the plant and maximize efforts to meet customer delivery schedules
  • Monitor work in process and stored in Shipping/Receiving Department to develop shipping and receiving schedule and manpower and equipment requirements
  • Audit packaging and loading operation to insure proper identity, compliance with procedures and customer requirements
  • Requisition material, supplies, and services required to meet shipping/receiving schedules
  • Encourage and implement modern physical distribution techniques, inventory control systems through computerization and automated systems
  • Develop, monitor, and upgrade packaging procedures to utilize most cost-effective method. Monitor customer packaging specifications and requirements. Monitor inventory of packaging materials and customer containers
  • Maintain high level of communication within and outside departments to determine level of service required and provided.

Basic Requirements

  • 5+ years of shipping and receiving experience

Essential Skills

  • Transportation, material handling, shipping, and packaging operations
  • Shop operations for coordinated, on-time management of material and shipments
  • Computer scheduling and inventory control systems
  • Human relations and communication skills

Personal Protective Equipment typically required to perform the essential functions of this job
