Description: Job Summary:The Lead Procedural Ultrasound Tech is responsible for daily oversight of the reception/waiting area and technologist work areas. This position will also be accountable for some training, scheduling, and general leadership of the department staff. The Lead Procedural Ultrasound Tech will perform a variety of standard sonography and ultrasound guided biopsy procedures in a safe and efficient manner; review and transmit images and reports to appropriate physicians.Essential Responsibilities:Partners with supervisor to manage clinical, quality, and professional department operations.Performs Sonography and Ultrasound Guided Biopsy procedures.Prepares department for daily workload by determining staff assignments & coordinating lunch schedules.Works closely with supervisor to govern department QA/QC review (MSDS, Probe cleanliness, Viewing/Reading Station cleanliness, Daily room cleaning checklist, Eyewash checklist, Drug box inventory, Emergency box checklist, Electrical Safety, Physicist surveys, GUS room).Monitors appropriate usage and ordering of medical and office supplies.Manages member concerns on an ongoing basis and in the supervisor's absence.Site Coordinator for student technologist. Monitors learning experience daily, fills out evaluations weekly, and completes competency forms as needed.Assists with the design and implementation of Diagnostic Imaging processes/procedures/policies.Assists supervisor with interviews, staffing, staff meetings, payroll, reports, and special projects.Troubleshoots and manages equipment concerns to include engaging service vendor.Takes rotational call for After Hours facilities and is responsible for coverage if unable to take call.Applies the professions code of ethics in all aspects of practice and is competent in all relative skills for a plies with all governing regulations.Escalates all unusual (not typical) situations to the supervisor in a timely manner.Stocks and cleans exam rooms/work areas.Preceptor to ultrasound staff for Ultrasound guided procedures.Maintain all QA/QC for procedures.Yearly in service.Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications:ExperienceMinimum two (2) years as a Sonographer.Minimum one (1) year as a Procedural Sonographer.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED.License, Certification, RegistrationRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Breast OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - AbdomenRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical SonographersAdditional Requirements:Demonstrated collaborative/team-oriented work style.Demonstrated strong clinical knowledge base and judgment, preferably in ambulatory care setting.Ability to analyze, integrate, and use quantitative data/information in making business decisions and problem solving.Understanding of the Kaiser Permanente's core values and service model.Demonstration of good judgment, organizational skills and professionalism.General knowledge of EH&S, OSHA, Radiation Safety and Protection.General knowledge of policies and procedures for the delivery of healthcare services.Preferred Qualifications:N/A Primary Location: Georgia,Jonesboro,Southwood Medical Offices I Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: Day Workdays: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri Working Hours Start: 07:00 AM Working Hours End: 04:00 PM Job Schedule: Full-time Job Type: Standard Employee Status: Regular Employee Group/Union Affiliation: GUPUFCWLocal 1996 Job Level: Individual Contributor Department: Southwood Medical Offices - Sonography-General - 2808 Pay Range: $41.74 - $46.81 / hour The ranges posted above reflect the location in the job posting.
