Chestnut Hill Lodge is a 181 bed skilled nursing facility offering rehabilitation and long term healthcare services. We are on a mission to enhance the lives of our residents by providing excellent care and service with skill and compassion. We have an excellent opportunity for a like-minded Cook with 2 or more years work experience as a Cook in a long term care facilities.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Preparing nutritional and appetizing meals including modified consistency and therapeutic diets as prescribed by the attending physician.
  • Handling and preparing food in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Communicating effectively and professionally with residents, their families, dietary co-workers as well as other department staff.
  • Supervising staff in the absence of the Dietary Director and/or Assistant Director; scheduling and ensuring the meal and break schedule is followed as well as providing staff guidance about completing their assignments according to facility policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Follows safety precautions to ensure residents and staff remain safe from hazards.
  • Properly cares for dietary equipment and helps to ensure the department environment is clean and ha
  • Being flexible because this position may require rotating shifts, holidays, weekends and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Applicant qualifications must include:

2 or more years of work experience as a Cook in a skilled healthcare facility; preferably in a long term care facility.

Proven skills that include communication, a drive for good results, problem solving and conflict management.
