In-Office Days: Onsite Monday to Thursday engaging with your colleagues Flexible Location Day: On Fridays enjoy the flexibility to work from a location that best suits your productivity and personal needs About the Job: As Senior Product Manager Hardware, you will lead the strategy, roadmap, development, and successful deployment of our hardware product offerings. You will work closely with our engineering, turnkey contracting, and sales teams, as well as with third-party vendors, to select, test, and prototype hardware solutions for commercialization. You will manage a team of applications engineers focused on configuring new customer installations, ensuring robust testing and troubleshooting. This high-impact role blends technical expertise in hardware, control system design, leadership, customer-facing experience, and hands-on problem-solving in a dynamic HVAC and energy management environment. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our hardware offerings, ensuring every customer installation meets our standards of reliability, efficiency, and innovation. This is an opportunity to combine strategic product ownership with hands-on leadership of technical deployments, making a measurable difference in both product development and customer experience. What you will do: Product Strategy and Roadmap: Drive the long-term vision and strategy for our hardware products. Develop and maintain product roadmaps to ensure alignment with the company's overall strategy and revenue objectives. Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and support a team of controls application engineers, empowering them to deliver high-quality customer installations and resolve technical challenges efficiently. Vendor & Partner Collaboration: Evaluate and work with third-party vendors, installation contractors, and integration partners for sourcing and installing hardware components or technologies as needed, and own relationships with vendors. Prototyping and Testing: Lead rapid prototyping efforts and hands-on testing with your team to iterate and validate new hardware solutions prior to commercialization. Application Engineering: Collaborate with engineering and development teams to address application-specific requirements and overcome technical obstacles. Work with the turnkey team to design light commercial building automation solutions. Support the sales team in responding to customer RFI/RFP's. Support key customer presentations and deliverables. Customer Installations: Oversee and optimize processes for configuring, commissioning, and troubleshooting new customer deployments, ensuring exceptional quality and satisfaction. New Product Release Support: Coordinate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and support the launch of new hardware products. Market & Customer Insights: Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for innovation or improvement. Support the creation of product marketing collateral. What you will bring: Applicable field experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable 4+ years in product management, technical sales, application engineering, system design/programming/commissioning; ideally within the HVAC, building automation, energy management, or IoT hardware industries. Deep knowledge of building automation system design, operations & maintenance, best communication protocols (specifically BACnet & Modbus), system integration, and best practices Demonstrable success in hardware product lifecycle management, especially with customer installations and troubleshooting. Deep understanding of HVAC control sequences of operation and programming for commercial HVAC systems. Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical team members and confidence coordinating with diverse teams Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related field. Experience directly managing or mentoring technical staff/technicians. Niagara Framework Certification Experience with grocery Refrigeration control system design, programming, and system integration. Understanding of modern IoT to Cloud tech stack, system architecture (wired and wireless), and communication protocols (e.g. MQTT) Understanding corporate IT cybersecurity and info security standards and best practices. Understanding of commercial IT networking architectures, protocols, and best practices. Passion for sustainability, energy efficiency, or climate tech is a plus. Compensation: Base Pay Range: $ Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages.
