The purpose of the role within the license compliance department is to serve as the technology lead and subject matter. Protection of intellectual property from a technological standpoint is central to this career opportunity. Technology Road Map

  • Drive the technology road map to innovate LC program in support of its initiatives and provide guidance on implementation to various teams.
  • Strategic mindset and decision making in collaboration with key stakeholders to develop ways to detect unauthorized usage.
  • Ability to assess root causes and produce plans to provide a solution.
LC Enforcement Support
  • Ability to provide enforcement support while working alongside license compliance managers when speaking to customers with the goal of resolving non-compliance in a commercial context.
  • Experience in engaging with customer's IT personnel in addressing technology related subjects such as network and client/server architecture within a computing environment.
  • Be able to provide support to legal counterparts when topics related to our enforcement activities, software products and licensing come up.
Application Integrations
  • Oversee implementation of application integrations in partnering with R&D, product and software engineering teams (for existing product lines and acquisitions) for the purpose of protection of our intellectual property.
  • Good understanding of the software release process for commercial level software.
  • Manage technology vendors and triage issue reported by product teams and drive to resolution.
  • Evangelize the compliance features among product teams to have them embed enhancements into our software products
  • Track product teams adoption of new compliance features
Job Responsibilities:
  • Skilled at writing sensitive communications with regards to non-compliance: externally with the customer and internally with key stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills in support of license compliance process during a customer engagement
  • Proficient in program management or Agile software development methodology.
  • Ability to interface well with other departments such as legal, sales, and engineering teams
  • Detail oriented in producing quality deliverables for an executive audience
  • Manage resources and team of technology specialists to execute department initiatives
  • Working experience with forensic tools used by the software license compliance industry - Desirable
Job Qualifications:
  • BA, emphasis in Business: Management Information Systems OR
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or experience in job offered or related field.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a software license compliance department / software development
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience servicing clients in the software license compliance industry
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Understanding of software license models on FlexLM.
  • Understanding of Linux/Windows operating systems
  • Understanding of computing environment and infrastructure such as networking, wifi, servers, virtual machines, computer endpoints, etc.
  • Write Requirement Specifications in SMART for Engineering team and get them approved

Travel: >10% (ensure to call out relevant travel %)

The annual salary range for California is $140,000 to $260,000. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
