Role Overview:

As a Python developer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions within tight timelines to enhance the bank's security capabilities. This involves developing custom solutions and integrating third-party software, primarily using Python programming skills. You will be responsible for integrating services and applications through APIs and user interfaces, ensuring the success of Python delivery within the development team.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop bespoke solutions and integrate third-party software using Python programming skills.

Integrate services and applications through APIs and user interfaces.

Take individual responsibility for the overall success of Python delivery within the development team.

Adhere to technical practices adopted by the bank and strive for technical excellence.

Essential Skills:

Experience working as a developer on large, complex applications within the Python ecosystem.

Proficiency in building and maintaining Python frameworks for use by other developers.

Ability to write reusable, testable, and efficient code.

Integration of security and data protection into the development lifecycle.

Proactive team player with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Champion of best practices and technical expertise in Python, including advanced language concepts.

Strong experience with Python 3.x, preferably version 3.6.

Fluency in Python web frameworks and familiarity with ORM libraries.

Understanding of REST API development and lifecycle.

Knowledge of the design principles behind scalable and secure applications.

Strong unit testing and debugging skills.

Familiarity with Anaconda distribution and virtual environment management.

Experience with Anaconda Enterprise Notebooks (AEN) and Jupyter.

Proficiency in UNIX and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).

Experience with version control tools like Stash, continuous integration tools like Jenkins, and artifact repository managers like Nexus.

Familiarity with project management tools like JIRA.

Basic knowledge of Java would be beneficial.

Familiarity with the IntelliJ IDE and Python plugins.

Knowledge of web application servers like Tomcat.

Any specific expertise in security tooling would be highly valued.
