Job Description:

Process, prepare and analyze accurate financial information within Oracle in an efficient and thoroughly documented manner, to include:

  • Research, analyze and reconcile capital projects and asset management systems, including tracking funding and reserves, project status, record retention and financial reporting.
  • Perform all administrative functions within the Oracle projects module related to capital project management, including but not limited to: setup, documentation requirements, event-to-event processing, budgeting, billing, distribution modifications (DM)s, reconciliations, financial reporting, and closing of capital projects.
  • Perform and/or monitor reconciliations, including subledger modules to the general ledger.
  • Prepare calculations and reports for expenditures and revenues from a variety of data and accounting records.
  • Assist with management of debt issuances, track debt financed project dollars and reconcile debt related transactions. Prepare necessary internal and external reports to request project funds from third parties, address external auditor requests and other reporting as needed.
  • Examines or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards; prepares a variety of detailed accounting, statistical and/or narrative financial statements or reports requiring analysis and interpretation.
  • Assist users with financial reporting needs, understanding full and modified accrual accounting, and internal control requirements.
  • Verifies the accuracy of accounting records and transactions and effectiveness of record keeping systems; participates in financial, compliance, and operational audits of County departments, courts, and special districts.
  • Continually look for ways to automate procedures or to use technology in ways that save labor, dollars, or in other ways to improve efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in the field(s) of Accounting, Finance or closely related field (with at least 15 semester hours of accounting coursework). Two years of professional-level accounting experience.

Preferred Job Requirements:

Experience working in capital asset management.
